エルブリッジ・コルビー元米国防次官補代理と、弊社会長の西正典、特別顧問の小野田治らが台湾情勢を巡り2022年8月1日に意見交換をしました。
コルビー氏は、トランプ前政権下で戦略・戦力開発担当として、中国を「戦略上の競争相手」と位置付けた２０１８年の国防戦略（NDS）の策定を担いました。コルビー氏からは台湾有事を巡る米政府の対応について説明があったほか、TPGが策定している「台湾有事シナリオ」についても米政府の視点から意見をもらいました。

Former U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategy and Force Development Elbridge Colby, our Chairman Masanori Nishi, our Special Advisor Osamu Onoda, and others exchanged views on the situation about Taiwan on August 1, 2022. Mr. Colby was in charge of strategy and force development under the Trump administration. He was co-leading for the development of the U.S. premier strategic planning guidance, the 2018 National Defense Strategy” (NDS), which clearly regarded China as a “strategic competitor”. Mr. Colby explained the U.S. government’s response to the Taiwan contingency. Also, he gave us his comments from the U.S. government’s perspective on the “Taiwan contingency scenario” being developed by TPG.
